"The Lord is my helper; I will not fear..." Hebrews 13:6

When does the Lord become my Helper?

Does He only BECOME my Helper when the money comes? When I can physically see the provision? Is that when He becomes my Helper?

Do I only "not fear" when there's nothing to fear? Is that when I start to believe?

-OR-

Is He my Helper right in the very midst of it all.

Can I BOLDLY SAY- "The Lord is my Helper" NOW?

B-E-F-O-R-E I see the breakthrough. BEFORE provision comes.

Even if what I've been praying for, & wanting to happen, doesn't- He is STILL good. He is still there.

It is BECAUSE He is my Helper that I do not have to fear!

This passage in Hebrews 13:5-6 quotes David from Psalm 118:6 when he was walking IN distress. IN the valley. When he was surrounded on all sides, & it did not look as though there was any hope in sight.

"The Lord IS on my side; I will not fear, what can man do to me? The Lord is for me among those who help me..."

He REMINDS himself of who God IS right in the very middle of it all.

He is the same God that delivered Abraham, Issaac, Jacob, Moses & Israel. And He will deliver ME. He has never changed.

What circumstances & trying situations do is reveal just WHAT exactly we put our hope IN.

If it is money, then our faith rises, & falls with it.

If it is in government, then our authority lies with them & we trust in what they do, or do not do.

If it is in relationship(s), then we will ride the waves of emotion & instability.

But if it be in GOD- who does not shift, change, or move position- then we too can remain unmovable, unshakable, firm.

We can learn to be CONTENT- a state of being, not a state of having- which in Greek, "arkeo" means 'enough, satisfied'.

We don't HAVE to give way to worry- which is anxiety- to allow our minds to dwell on difficulties or trouble, anticipated potential threat, problems or fear! This causes us to attempt to take matters into our own hands, to control whatever we can & try to "fix it" ourselves.

Father, what we need is YOU.

All of life goes back to this question: "Is He ENOUGH"?

Only we can answer that.

He is "God WITH us", & this we can be completely, 100% assured of in a world where nothing is certain- HE DOES NOT CHANGE.

Because of this, when HE says, "Fear not..." I let go of whatever it is I am clinging to in that moment, & choose to say, "Ok. I trust You."

"If He dresses the lilies with beauty & splendor...if He watches over every sparrow, how much more will He love you?" Matthew 6:26
